notwithstanding these hard times of crisis, there
has been no shortage of raw materials, the supply
of which has been regular as expected, although
solid companies to keep buffer stocks of finished
goods in order to meet the global demand in this
market according to specific needs.

Prepared to get over the crisis
The metallic packaging industry has also been
affected by the economic crisis.
The whole industry was expe-
riencing rapid growth in 2008,
which was then barred by the
world crisis that generally im-
pacted all of its segments.
The economic crisis has posed
serious difficulties to the me-
tallic packing industry, with
substantial drops in sales vo-
lumes, which according to the
people we interviewed range
from 15 to 25 percent, requi-
ring all companies in the in-
dustry to create alternatives in
order to overcome the problem
on the back of more competi-
tive prices or more favorable
negotiations with suppliers.
In addition, another factor
that has contributed to such
statistics was the anticipa-
tion of the effects of the crisis,
leading companies that had
been investing in the industry
to cut back on their invest-
ments. Right now, however,
companies are noticing a clear
recovery from the financial
crisis, fewer negative news and
increased public and private
investment in several indus-
tries, especially building and
