Instrutherm
celebrates 25 years
August 1st saw Instrutherm celebrate in grand
style its 22 years of success in the domestic market
with a party that brought together more than 300
guests at Espaço Hakka, in the district of Liberda-
de in São Paulo. Guests included suppliers, custo-
mers and professionals who were or are part of
the brand’s history.
The event was market by a retrospective account
of Instrutherm’s history and special honors for the
company’s most senior employees, as well as music
played live by the Nova Era band, with the partici-
pation of singer Kelly Moore.
Although it was founded on August 1st, 1984,
Instrutherm’s history began earlier, when its
current president, who worked for 12 years at a
measuring instruments company, started to dream
about running his own business. Then, headquar-
tered in space measuring 20 square meters, a com-
pany was born by the name of Instrutherm, which
was chosen because
thermometers were the
initial flagship.
In 1985, the company
moved to a larger buil-
ding in the same block
as the old one, but which
was still a house measu-
ring 60 square meters. In
the following year, Ins-
trutherm took another
important step in its tra-
jectory: it succeeded in
purchasing the location
of its current headquar-
ters, which represented
major progress.

The alcoholysis and es-
terification reactions are
highly important stages of the process whereby
alkyd resins are produced. For this reason, the full
version of this article, available in Portuguese only,
seeks to emphasize these reactions for a better
understanding.
On the other hand, alkyd resins continue to be key
polymers in the formulation of nitro systems in
general, air- and/or oven-drying synthetic enamels
and primers for general industrial applications,
silk-screen and flexo printing inks, etc.
