14th Paint & Pintura Survey - The best of the
paint market
The 14th edition of the Paint & Pintura Survey has
revealed the winner in 53 categories, 37 for suppliers,
nine personalities, seven paint manufacturers.
Conducted by Agnelo Editora since 1997, this year’s
Paint & Pintura Survey started on January 14 and
went on until April 16th. For this year in particular,
as determined by Premium Auditores, the firm who
has audited the survey since its 2007 edition aiming
at greater transparency in its collection of informa-
tion and analysis of results, the Additives for Powder
Coatings category was excluded from the Paint &
Pintura Survey because the number of votes in it was
below the requisite minimum for the surveyed data
compilation. To sum it up, blank or void ballots were
93.43 percent in this category were blank or void.
The venue where the “Oscar” of the paint industry will
be presented has changed as well. Espaço Vila dos Ipês,
located in the district of Vila Leopoldina, in São Paulo,
has been selected to host the event this year.

panies and professionals chosen by our readers, are
published below.
Adhesion Promoters - A promising market
Over the past few years, manufacturers of adhesion
promoters have been growing considerably in the
Brazilian market due evolving customer requirements
in the industry, which is constantly seeking alterna-
tives specific to its applications and improvement in
both performance and quality in paints and coatings.
Notwithstanding the economic crisis which eventu-
ally got in the way of growth not only among adhe-
sion promoter suppliers, but also for all industries,
sales keep up a positive performance during the year
2009. “We can say that the market in adhesion pro-
moters, taken as a whole, showed the same behavior
as several other market segments, with a tougher
period in the beginning of the year, and a slight re-
covery in the second half, which kept up the demand
and rather favorable results,” says Renato Stoicov,
product manager, Brazil and Mercosur, for Evonik’s
Tego Additives & Specialty Resins.
There were very positive expectations in the market
place during the crisis. Suppliers of adhesion promo-
ters experienced some increase in sales, especially on
