line has totaled US$ 5 million, and it will enable us
to provide performance-enhancing specialties in the
kaolin market,” Rocha points out.
Following the implementation of the new additives
plant, Monte Pascoal intends to make more invest-
ments to produce calcined kaolin for use in all of the
market segments that it currently serves.
Monte Pascoal serves customers in several market
segments, such as paints, paper, catalysts, rubber
goods, crop protection, and construction. For the
paint industry, the company provides three kinds of
kaolin, which vary in brightness and particle size
distribution: Coat 70, Coat 87, and Coat 90. “The
main properties of these products is that they are
extremely fine materials, with lamellar particles,
which allow for optimum stacking, averaging less
than 2 micra (1.6). Our products are extensively tes-
ted and proven quality, while receiving a warranty
certificate,” says Rocha.
Monte Pascoal is introducing a new product line
as a result of its implementation of cutting-edge
equipment at its Bahia plant, which will enable it
to launch new products from its existing range. The
products to be launched are high-performance spe-
cialty additives for the paint market.
