Editorial
This issue of Paint & Pintura Magazine brings you firsthand the Latincoat & Adhesives 2010 plenary session
and lecture program, as reviewed and approved by the Congress Technology Board, consisting of excellent pro-
fessionals related to the paint and adhesive industries. Incidentally, Agnelo Editora’s entire team would like to
thank these experts for their huge cooperation and outstanding job done to produce yet another major event
that will contribute the development of the industries concerned.
For the 2010 edition, Latincoat & Adhesives will be different from its previous versions. The trade show is espe-
cially focused on high-end lectures on key themes related to innovative technologies and the advances achie-
ved in the segments concerned, following the world trend towards sustainability. For three days —October 26
through 28— lecturers from major companies will provide their contributions through thoroughly selected
technical presentations.
While the show is intended to provide high-caliber lectures, attendees will also be presented with a space spe-
cifically designed for companies in the paint, adhesive and sealant industries to showcase their latest laun-
ches. It’s going to be a grand event held by Agnelo Editora, which is once again delivering a show with loads of
information and a unique opportunity to interact with professionals renowned in the marketplace.
In addition to the program for Latincoat and Adhesives 2010, a lot of information on many other topics is
published in this issue. On the following pages, for example, you, our readers, will get to know all about the
5th Rio de Janeiro Technical Symposium on Paints and Varnishes, held by Sintirj (short for Union of Paint and
Coatings, Vegetable and Animal Oil Manufacturers in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro) and covered exclusi-
vely by Paint & Pintura Magazine, which comprised lectures that lived up to the usual excellent level.
Those events, with their unquestionably valuable contents, contribute to the paint industry’s growth and de-
velopment. In fact, it can be said to be a privileged industry in that so many events, including lecture presenta-
tions and trade fairs, are held every year as a way of helping to spread state-of-the-art technologies, especially
those with an environmental edge, which is currently the top-priority of companies whose business involves
chemicals and petrochemicals, and who call for “greener” alternatives and solutions.
It is also worth highlighting the pieces on mineral fillers and polyurethane resins, which are focused on envi-
ronmentally friendlier technologies designed to provide innovative solutions that make the whole difference in
paint formulations, making them less and less damaging to human health and the environment.
We extend our congratulations to all of those companies which are in any way contributing to the preserva-
tion of nature and the future of our nation.
From the entire Agnelo Editora team, special thanks to the professionals sitting at the Latincoat & Adhesives
2010 Technology Board. Thanks a lot for helping us put together one of the most important events in the in-
dustry that is Latincoat & Adhesives 2010.
