Industry in the Spotlight - Expertise in resins
Established in 1990, Iguatu was acquired by Akzo
Nobel in 1997. Previously, the company was con-
trolled by Oxylin, headquartered in Guarulhos, São
Paulo. “Iguatu is our brand, which is recognized in
the marketplace for our expertise in the manufactu-

addition, since 1998 we have been authorized distri-

Mauá resins unit, strengthening Akzo Nobel’s posi-
tion as a resins supplier in our market,” says Elaine
Guedes, business manager at Iguatu, who adds that
the company also markets melamine, urea, polyi-
socyanate and acrylic resins.
The Guarulhos, São Paulo unit, with approximately
150 employees, produces a variety of products, such
as coatings for wood and hard boards, specialty
plastics coatings, coil coatings and resins. “Our
resins are used to manufacture industrial coatin-
gs and decorative paints, such as polyurethane
enamels, synthetic enamels, varnishes and others.
Iguatu’s target are manufacturers of industrial
coatings and decorative paints who want to provi-
de their customers with competitive, differentiated
products,” says Elaine.
The products manufactured at Iguatu are set apart
by their quality, consistent supply, delivery and
support, and competitive prices. “We provide our
