winners, the industry’s related entities, the companies
which answered the survey and the professionals in the
industry, and I congratulate you all for being part of
the event. Agnelo Editora took its first steps 15 years
ago, in a market that represented a sizable portion of
the country’s GDP, with revenues of approximately US$
1.82 billion and mean growth of around 5 percent. To-
day the industry has a turnover of nearly US$ 4 billion
and grows around 10 percent per year, and is certain
to double in size over the next 10 years. Our market is
bound to grow much more, but we’re still facing the
major challenge of training our workforce, and I’m

per capita consumption levels as the United States and
Europe,” he anticipates.
The CEO also stressed some of the most important
events that are about to take place this year and the
investments recently made by Agnelo Editora. “I’d like
to point up the Abrafati’s upcoming 2011 Internatio-
nal Paint Congress, which will be held on November

trade show. We’ll also benefit from other initiatives by
Agnelo Editora, such as the Paint & Pintura Coatings
Technology Forum, the first edition of which was held
in Fortaleza, State of Ceará on March 2011, and I take
the opportunity to invite the entire market to parti-
cipate in the second and third editions, which are set
to take place on June 29 and 30 in Goiânia, State of
Goiás, and September in Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de
Janeiro, respectively, as they will strengthen our culture
and bolster our goal of subsidizing the paint supply
chain more and more. In addition, we are investing in
new solutions for the industry, the latest of which being
the new digital platform of our publications, as our old
platform has been entirely replaced with another that’s
compatible with the iPod and iPhone platforms, while
enabling the convergence between our magazines and
Internet-based television,” Barros pointed out.
For master of ceremonies, the presentation had Renata
Fan, hostess of the sports show “Jogo Aberto”, which is
aired on the Bandeirantes network channel. Another
highlight of the evening was a tango dance show per-
formed by six couples who took the guests’ breath away.
In addition, there was a musical performance by the
