PAINT & PINTURA
Lumasa
Lumasa is participating in the
Abrafati congress for the first
time this year. “Lumana currently
represents and distributes in the
South American market epoxy
resins and auxiliary chemicals
from The Jana Jubail Chemical
Industries and CTP Chemicals &
Technologies for Polymers GmbH.
Jana, a producer of epoxy resins,
continues to invest in capacity
expansion and expects to double
its capacity for epoxy resins and
other important raw material,
such as epichlorohydrin and soda,
by 2012. Another two-fold capaci-
ty increase process is scheduled to
be completed by 2015 in order to
position the company among the
world’s three largest epoxy resin
manufacturers. Lumasa currently
provides customer with an option
to purchase Jana resins by direct
importation or from its local
inventory,” says Lumasa’s Director
Marcos Codinhoto.
The other major company repre-
sented by Lumasa is CTP Che-
micals & Technologies for Poly-
mers GmbH, which specializes in
developing and producing harde-
ners and epoxy systems that meet
new environmental regulations
without compromising any per-
formance requirements. “A manu-
facturer of high-solids, nonylphe-
nol-free, phenol-free and benzyl
alcohol-free waterborne epoxy
systems and hardeners that meet
a variety of requirements from the
markets that we serve, Lumasa
seeks and has been successfully
achieving sustainable growth by
providing customers with excel-
lent quality products and servi-
ces,” says Lumasa’s Director Mario
de Carvalho.
LyondellBasell
LyondellBasell will participate once
again in the Abrafati International
Paint Congress. “We are going to
reaffirm the commitment of the
world’s third largest chemical com-
pany to the market and our custo-
mers in South America. We will also
highlight some of the products that
it provides for the paint and coa-
tings industry, such glycol esters (P
and E series, as solvents/coalescent
agents – butyl glycol, Arcosolve PM,
DPM and PMA), styrene mono-
mers (SM), vinyl acetate monomers
(VAM), butanediol and derivatives
—BDO/NMP/GBL—, tert-butyl ace-
tate (TBAc), propylene glycols —PG
and DPG—, and ethylene glycols
—MEG and DEG. Our team will be
there to answer questions from our
visitors, whether they relate to our
products, of which we keep local
inventories, or to their distribution,
which is from the United States to
South America,” says Carlos Tooge,
Sales Manager at LyondellBasell.
