The main highlight of its exhibition
will be the Xirallic line, which is
extensively used in automotive co-
atings, where properties like gloss,
transparency and glamour are de-
sirable. It provides a sense of depth
and high gloss that impart a luxury
touch to automotive finishes.
Mineração São Judas
Mineração São Judas has been in
business for 30 years as a supplier
of mineral fillers and additives
for industrial coatings, decorative
paints and polyurethane putties, as
well as several other mineral pro-
ducts, such as micronized calcite,
dolomite, talc and talc carbonates
produced by ISO 9000:2008-certi-
fied processes. “São Judas’ micro-
nized products, especially our talc
carbonate blends, impart great
hiding power and washability to
paints and coatings, meeting all
related technical requirements,”
says Mineração São Judas’ Director
Fábio Pires Leal.
The mineral additives and fillers
provided by São Judas are proces-
sed at the company’s own indus-
trial facilities, “which are adjacent
to our mines and can supply paint
manufacturers with any amounts
of materials that are transported
by São Judas’ own fleet as well,”
Leal remarks.
Minérios Ouro Branco
Minérios Ouro Branco is bringing
to Abrafati 2011 its lines of mineral
additives, ground cellulose, spe-
cialty chemicals and pigments. “In
the mineral additives line, we are
highlighting our performance mi-
nerals, whether micronized or even
surface-treated, such as talc, cal-
cium carbonate, mica, kaolin and
quartz. These products feature easy
incorporation, excellent dispersion
and a significantly reduced use of
white pigments, such as titanium
dioxide. We are also putting on
display our precipitated barium sul-
fate for electrostatic coatings and
synthetic paints in general, as well
as our cellulose fibers, which are
used as rheology agents in textured
coatings and putties,” says Minérios
Ouro Branco’s Director Jose Carlos
Bartholi.
“In the pigment line, emphasis
will be placed on our pearlescent
pigments, as well as our rutile and
anatase titanium dioxides, our le-
afing series of aluminum pigments
and our iron oxides. We are also
showcasing putting our precipita-
ted silicas and thyrotrophic silicas,
as well as zinc, calcium, aluminum
and magnesium stearates and
zinc oxides. Cellulose fibers work
as thyrotrophic agents mainly in
sealants, substituting for asbestos,”
informs Bartholi.
Miracema-Nuodex
Doing business in the domestic and
international markets for almost 60
years, Miracema-Nuodex is driven
by the constant challenge of excee-
ding customer expectations with a

“For this year’s edition of the
Abrafati trade show, in addition
to our traditional portfolio, we are
highlighting our newly launched
products, namely, Lioclean, an in-
dustrial sanitizer with rapid action
against several microorganisms for
process tanks, storage tanks, distri-
bution lines, filling machines and
containers, Liocide EP 2015, a po-
werful algaecide and fungicide, and
the Liofoam 149 defoamer, which is
formulated with plant-based fatty
acid esters, thereby meeting our
customer’s sustainability require-
ments. It has a high foam-breaking
power and minimizes defects that
can otherwise damage the coating
film,” says Maria Silva Damasio,
Sales Coordinator at Miracema-
-Nuodex.
Moinho Pirâmide
For this year’s edition, Moinho
Pirâmide will be at the Abrafati
International Paint Congress to
show that designing and buil-
ding production equipment is not
the company’s only business. “We
actually build complete plants
under turn-key contracts. It’s not
a new process in the scope of our
capacities as a supplier. Over our
26 years in the business, we’ve set
up more than 350 plants in several
countries, all designed and built
with smart structures, cutting-edge
technology and integrated systems,
including organization and con-
trol of raw materials, from arrival
to storage and shipment, through
tanks, pipelines and automated
processing systems, equipment
like mills, reactors and dispersing
machines, and all functionalities
controlled by central command
panel and electronic supervising
systems,” says Moinho Pirâmide’s
Sales Director Junior Machado.
Momentive
One of the highlights of
Momentive’s exhibit at Abrafati will
be the VeoVa monomer, an alterna-
tive to traditional emulsion tech-
nologies. “Paints formulated with
terpolymers or copolymers based
on VeoVa monomers are easy to
produce and to apply. We are also
going to showcase Silquest A-171,
Silquest A-151, Silquest A-174 and
VX-193, our main silane monomers
for the polymerization of vinyl or
acrylic resins. Also to be on display
is CoatOSil MP 200, a silane that
can be used as a cross-linking agent
in waterborne decorative paints
