True Color
At Abrafati 2011, True Color is
going to demonstrate several
applications of its new Decomet
pigment line, which enables paints
to reproduce chrome and mirro-
red colors. “We’re also introducing
our new Powdal family of metallic
pigments for powder coatings, such
as Powdal 8500 and Powdal 9400,
a line of high-gloss encapsulated
silver dollar pigments with good
chemical strength. We are also
displaying our new Alushine line,
such as Alushine 7600, 7800 and
9000, for coatings applied to plastic
auto parts, and a comprehensive
range of metallic printing inks of
offset, flexo and gravure,” says True
Color’s General Manager André
Cabral Martins. As for organic
pigments, the new products at True
Color’s booth are coming from
its partner Trust Chem. “We have
organic pigments to replace chrome
yellows and molibdate orange, per-
formance pigments for automotive
applications, and pigments with
exceptional gloss and transparency
properties for printing inks,” Mar-
tins points out.
T&M Instruments
T&M Instruments will show the
equipment of its representatives
Konica Minolta (USA), Zenhtner
(Switzerland) and Cyberchrome
(USA). “With the Konica Minolta
we will introduce three colorime-
try spectrophotometers: the newly
released CM-5 benchtop model,
which makes measurements by
reflectance and transmittance for
solid, liquid, powders, granular or
pasty samples, and CM-2500d and
CM-700d portable models, which
made measurements by reflectance.
With Zenhtner we will present the
paint laboratory equipment as the
grindometer, cross cut tester, paint
applicator, Leneta chart and glos-
smeter. With Cyberchorme we will
have colorimetry software for sim-
ple quality control, complete quality
control and the one for formulation
and correction. Additionally we
will have our light booth for color
evaluation, T&M brand, with six
illuminating”, said Mauricio Olivei-
ra, sales engineer of the commercial
department at T&M Instruments.
Wacker
These are the products that Wacker
will be exhibiting at Abrafati 2011:
Geniosil N, a hybrid technology for
fast-curing one-component adhe-
sives and sealants, and even high-
strength adhesives; the Geniosil W
one-component, solvent-free and
self-leveling waterproofing liquid
membrane for horizontal surfaces;
Silres, a line of highly versatile,
heat-resistant silicone resins for
liquid paints, power coatings and
organic resin-enhancing inter-
mediates; Silres BS, a new silicone
additive for indoor paints; the SREP
silicone resin emulsion paints for
long-lasting wall protection from
water absorption; Vinnapas, a line
of dispersible polymer powders, dis-
persions and solid resins; the Vin-
napas EF8001 and Vinnapas EF8300
aqueous vinyl acetate-ethylene
copolymer dispersions developed
as a higher performance replace-
ment for vinyl acrylic copolymers
with environmental advantages;
Vinnol H30/48M and Vinnol LL
4311, which are vinyl resins based
on vinyl chloride copolymers and
terpolymers with and without func-
tional groups, such as carboxyl or
hydroxyl groups; Vinnapas DPX271
and Vinnapas EP1400-DPX, a new
generation of PVA dispersions for
formulating 3D one-component
wood adhesives with no external
cross-linking agents; and the Vin-
napas EP1400 high-performance
VAE dispersion, which provides
great value for money for a wide
range of adhesive formulations.
Wana Química
Always seeking alternatives for
the market, Wana Química will
launch the W. Filler titanium diox-
ide extender at Abrafati 2011. “It
is a powder material that helps to
replace up titanium dioxide by up
to 30 percent in volume, depend-
ing on the customer’s formula-
tion. The company is also going
to launch the Wanol U rheology
modifier, which increases high-
shear viscosity and improves paint
transfer, leveling, spread and
washability. It is a hybrid ure-
thane acrylic. We must also point
out that our technical personnel
will be available to demonstrate
our products,” says Adriano
Petrone, Director at the Petrowan
northeast branch.
