6th Ebdquim Once Again a Great
Success
The event was an exercise of reflection
about the future of chemical and pe-
trochemical distribution and the green
chemistry.
With “Green Chemistry and Petroche-
mistry: Impacts on Distribution” as the main theme, the 6th
Brazilian Conference of Chemical and Petrochemical Distribu-
tors (known for short as Ebdquim) held by the Brazilian Associa-
tion of Chemical and Petrochemical Distributors and Union of
São Paulo State Chemical and Petrochemical Wholesalers (known
for short as Associquim-Sincoquim) took place from March 14 to
16 at Tivoli Ecoresort on Praia do Forte, Bahia.
The 6th Ebdquim had participants from Brazil, Germany, Chi-
le, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Mexico and
Switzerland, and was a unique opportunity for getting up-to-
-date on the industry ’s new developments, trends, forecasts and
expectations, while enabling direct contacts with executives,
suppliers and customers to generate business and strengthen
partnerships.
On the first day of the show, the entity ’s president Rubens Me-
drano delivered the opening speech stressing the actual role of
chemical distributors. “The consumer market began to pose new
requirements, and today companies need to provide not only
products, but also services. This role is now played by distribu-
tors, which prioritize quality. In addition, the distribution busi-
ness has to prepare for the future, in this is why we’ve selected
the theme “Green Chemistry” for the event. We at Associquim-
-Sincoquim are celebrating the 10 years of the Prodir Responsi-
ble Distribution Process and have gained respect in the interna-
tional community because the Brazilian distribution business is
committed and has adhered to international practices for the
environment, transportation, sustainability, social responsibili-
ty etc.,” said Medrano.
