The forum will once again bring to the region the
most important information on the paint market,
with high-end lecture and plenary meetings (check
out the Lecture Program), while providing a great
opportunity for interacting, exchanging experiences
and acquiring in-depth knowledge of the paint value
chain.
The region has been chosen again by the forum orga-
nizer because it is an important paint producer and
consumer center, with 87 manufacturers, 32 of which
located in the State of Ceará, most of which in the
Greater Fortaleza area. In addition, the Northeastern
market has been displaying high development indica-
tors and is set to growth very fast over the next few
years, and even double in size eight years from now.
Opening of the Senai Paint Laboratory
The Senai Paint Laboratory will be opened during the
Forum, and attendees will be given an opportunity
to take a tour of its facilities on the last day of the
event, April 26, at 3:30 pm.
The laboratory started to be built in 2009 and is
designed to meet the standards imposed by the Bra-
zilian regulatory agency Inmetro. It is part of the Se-
nai Fortaleza trade school’s facilities at the Training
and Business Support Center.
Titanium Dioxide - Governmental Action Extends
Tax Cut to Industry ’s Primary Pigment
he federal government has once again issued a re-
solution reducing the import tax rate for titanium
dioxide (TiO2) from 12 to 2 percent. The tax cut will
be effective for a year, commencing on December 26,
2011, the publication date of Resolution no. 97 of the
Foreign Trade Board (known for short as Camex).
