Let’s Celebrate and Party
Together!
The most awaited event of the year is coming up to honor the 2011 winners of the Paint & Pintura Awards. The awar-
ds are divided into 50 categories, 38 of which for suppliers, five for “Personality of the Year”, and seven for the “Best
Paint Companies”. With each passing year, the award presentation becomes an even more special occasion. The 16th
Paint & Pintura Survey of Suppliers to the Paint Industry had a record number of respondents, comprising 119 paint
manufacturers and approximately 1,500 employees of 200 suppliers at the two of its stages.
The awards, which are also known as the “Oscar” of the paint industry, are presented based on the fairest survey in
the paint and coatings market, and it is extremely rewarding for Agnelo Editora, the event organizer, to see and feel
the importance attached to the awards and how each winner is exhilarated by the award received. Complete informa-
tion on all categories and winners is provided on page 20.
But that’s not all, as this issue is filled with breaking news. Together in the interview section, the full version of
which is available in Portuguese only, Abrafati’s chief executive officer Dilson Ferreira and Sitivesp’s president Ricardo
Stiepcich tell us every detail of Feitintas 2012, which will take place from September 19 to 22 at Centro de Exposições
Imigrantes, in São Paulo.
Starting from this year’s edition, the trade show held by Sitivesp (short for Union of São Paulo State Paint and Coa-
tings Industries) will also be backed by Abrafati (short for Brazilian Association of Paint Manufacturers) in order to
bolster the event, making it even more focused, comprehensive, interesting and fruitful to all participants alike and
thereby helping the both entities achieve their common goal of stimulating sustainable development in the industry.
“Joint actions like this encourage cooperation, expanding the market for all of those involved in a harmonious, sustai-
nable way,” says Sitivesp’s president.
Another important piece of news, especially for Agnelo Editora, which is honored to announce it, is the return of the
executive Sérgio Ávila, who is now responsible for the company’s corporate relations. Welcomed back with open arms
by all of our publishing company’s staff, Ávila is one of the founders of Agnelo Editora and will certainly continue
contributing to its growth with his vast wisdom and in-depth knowledge of the paint industry.
Also among the great articles in this issue are one on silicas and one on carbon blacks, both of which providing rele-
vant news and an overview of the current scenario, including key suppliers.
Congratulations to all winners of the 16th Paint & Pintura Awards!
