with the name “Osmose Pentox do Brasil Preserva-
ção de Madeiras,” as a business venture involving
entrepreneurs from Brazil —the Salis family— and
Canada, and then Americans later on. In 1983 it
was renamed as it is known today and became a
domestic concern, but it has retained its leadership
in the wood preservatives market. “In the early
decades, we were exclusively focused on develo-
ping products for the industrial preservation of
wood, an industry that was rather simple in Brazil
at that time. Hence the company’s vocation for
creating markets for our products. This is why we
internally say that Montana and our team have
innovation in products and services encoded in our
DNA. To develop a product, whether for treatment
or finishing purposes, you need to know very well
the substrate to be treated or finished. And this
is what we have been doing systematically since
those days. Our teams have been trained to have
in-depth knowledge of everything available in
terms of wood species and types. Our ability to
develop good products and services for a variety
of customer requirements, involving objective,
quality solutions, stems from that knowledge,” says
Montana’s Chief Executive Officer Rogildo Gallo.
According to the CEO, it is not by accident that
Montana has pioneered the production of wood
preservatives in Brazil. Having constantly evolved
for more than half a century, Montana manufac-
tures and markets innovative wood preservative
and finishing materials, developing solutions that
span from the forest harvesting stage to the end
product. “For these and other reasons, it’s time to
celebrate how our brand has evolved and develo-
ped all the way to the present day. For this year
2013, we’ll be intensifying our internal marketing
actions by opening our doors to wood consumers
at large, while making more frequent visits to
customers and suppliers. Our care for our values,
for achieving our targets, for new actions and for
doing our job seriously day after day is perceived
by everyone who either works or has any rela-
tionship with our company,” he concludes.
Event - Abrafati 2013 Stimulates
Business and Technological
Development
More than 150 companies have ensured their par-
ticipation in the 13th International Exhibition of Suppliers to the
Paint Industry, which will be held in São Paulo this year, from Sep-
tember 16 to 18, as part of Abrafati 2013. Exhibitors will number
in excess of 250, including all of the leading global suppliers which
invest billions of dollars every year in research and development,
and visitors will thus be able to see the last word in innovation in
the paint value chain. To create better conditions for participating
companies, the total exhibit area for the 13th edition of the show,
in a new space at Transamérica Expo Center, has been expanded to
28,000 square meters and gained significant improvements.
Those companies which have already confirmed their participation
are displaying confidence in the bright prospects for the paint in-
dustry over the next few years. They thus view the exhibition as a
great showcase and business opportunity where they can show all
of their potential, advertise quality products, introduce innova-
tive solutions, bolster relationships with customers, expand their
networking pools and discuss trends in technology.
Highly qualified visitors are one additional factor leading compa-
nies to invest massively, so that they can provide inviting environ-
ments and quality service to introduce thousands of innovative
products, services, technologies, solutions and developments, the-
reby giving paint manufacturers an opportunity to find resources
