Award Ceremony Comes Along
to Honor the Best of the Year
The most special gathering of the year has come along to anoint the winners of the “Oscar” of the paint industry. In the
17th edition, the Paint & Pintura Awards will once again be presented to the best of the year in several categories of inputs,
paint manufacturers and personalities based on a survey answered by 126 paint companies and around 1,650 professionals
from 200 suppliers.
Agnelo Editora, the event organizer, is holding the ceremony to present the awards to 50 winners in the evening of May 3,
and congratulates all contenders on their commitment and dedication to the paint industry. Find out who the winners are
and see all of the survey data on the following pages.
This issue also brings you our coverage of the 9th Paint & Pintura Coatings Technology and Management Forum for the
South Region, which took place on April 11 at Bourbon Joinville Business Hotel, in Joinville, Santa Catarina, with the par-
ticipation of important members of the region’s paint supply chain.
Yet again the forum achieved its main goal, which is to spread information and expertise on new technologies to paint
manufacturers in Brazil’s various regions. Attendees heard two lectures on the themes “Industry Overview: Decorative Paint
Market in Brazil/South Region,” prepared by Amauri Fiani, a chemical engineer with a postgraduate degree in marketing,
and delivered by Agnelo Editora’s editor in chief Marcos Mila, and “Reverse Logistics,” provided by Thaís Fagury, executive
manager at the Brazilian Steel Packaging Association (known for short in Portuguese as Abeaço). In addition, new products
and solutions were introduced by Polystell, quantiQ, Intertank and D’Altomare.
The next forum will take place in June, in the Southeast region, returning to the wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro. This is go-
ing to be yet another year of great events for Agnelo Editora and the paint supply chain. Wait and see!
Other highlights of this issue include articles on carbon blacks, covering the technological advances developed by manu-
facturers engaged in meeting the paint industry’s various needs and requirements; corrosion inhibitors, a market in which
suppliers are committed to providing environment-friendly, heavy metal-free products; and printing inks, showing how
producers are formulating inks with raw materials from renewable sources.
Enjoy!
