What is the Abrafati-RadTech
South America International
Conference on Radiation
Curing going to be like this
year?

The RadTech
conference is taking place together
with our congress and complements
it with its field of expertise,
which comprises not only the raw
materials used in radiation curing,
but also the equipment involved
and the products of combinations of
these technologies, designed for very
specific applications. Maria Cristina
Kobal de Carvalho, technical
director at Renner Sayerlack and
president of RadTech Brazil, is
coordinating this conference.
Now in its third edition, this conferen-
ce is an integral part of the congress,
so much so that papers for both the
conference and the congress were
registered together and selected by
the same scientific committee, which
means that the conference is subject
to the same degree of scrutiny as the
congress is for the selection of best
papers. In addition to the Brazilian
unit, Maria Cristina was able to bring
three international entities for this
edition: the United States, Europe and
China branches. As a matter of fact,
the conference is opening with a panel
of representatives of RadTech Brazil,
US, Europe and China.
The opening will be followed by a
series of papers selected for the con-
ference program, which has been
expanded by reason of the larger
number of registered papers, as well
as the great interest that theme holds
for the industry because it is in line
with sustainability concerns. For the
RadTech conference, 60 percent of all
lecturers are coming from abroad, and
for the Abrafati congress 50 percent.
For us, it’s always great news when
more than 50 percent of our lecturers
come from foreign countries. Interna-
tional participation has increased to
the same extent as Brazil has stood
out in the world economy, and RadTe-
ch is no exception.
The RadTech conference is taking pla-
ce during the three days of Abrafati
2013, in one auditorium, from 3:00
pm to 6:10 pm.
