assistance and color development services.
With tinting concepts dating back to the 1960’s, CPS
Color has roots in three pioneering companies: Tikkurila-
-CPS, Winter Bouts, and Corob. Its head office is based in
Finland, where it has its main colorant plants. “We are in
the business of providing tinting solutions through the
three of our business units: Colorants, with its main plant
in the Netherlands; Equipment, in Italy; and Customer
Service & Support. We also have plants and research and
development centers in China and India, as well as sales
offices with local inventories in Asia, the United States,
Russia, Uruguay and Brazil. Our sales representatives and
distributors are spread all over the world,” says Reubens
da Cunha, VP and head of sales for Latin America, who
adds that the companies Lenteq (Netherlands) and Pi-
nova (Switzerland) were merged into CPS Color in 2011.
The company started selling equipment in South Ameri-
ca back in 1991, and it came to Brazil two years later to
supply colorants to customers in the paint and coatings
market. “Today, the company has 900 employees around
the world, and annual sales of approximately US$ 300
million. In Brazil, our facilities are located in Barueri, São
Paulo, where we have 64 employees, including speciali-
zed technicians who performmaintenance and technical
service tasks on our machines across the country, as well
as sales andmanagement departments and a laboratory
fully equipped to develop colors and new products for
our customers,” Cunha points out.
CPS Color’s activities are concentrated in Europe, which
accounts for 70 percent of its business, and South Ame-
rica, with 11 percent, half of which in Brazil. “Our point
of difference in the Brazilian market is the service and
support we provide to our customers, comprising pre-
and after-sales follow-up and complete technical assis-
tance. We do business in a rather specific niche market
in Brazil, where the good functionality of our products
is essential to our customers, as it adds value to their
business. Before closing any deal, we provide our each
customer with advice to determine its specific needs and
requirements, so that we can offer the best solution for
its tinting system,” Cunha concludes.
