have drastically influenced the country’s horribleGDP result
for2014.Wecannotneglecttomentionotherfactorsthatalso
didandcontinueto influenceeconomicgrowth inBrazil,such
as the inflationdescribedas ‘fat andpregnant’ byeconomist
RicardoAmorim, thewatercrisis, especially inSãoPaulo, and
themajorscandal involvingPetrobras,”saysFernandaSantos,
paintresinssalespersonatCoim.
Fernandaaddsthat ifthemarketcannotavertalloftheproble-
msBrazilhasbeen facing, then itshouldseeknewchallenges
andnewopportunitiestoseethedoorsopen.“Paintresinsare
noexception. Inorder toachievepositive results, controlling
risks infundamental,andso isseeking innovationforbusiness,
beitbylaunchingnewproducts,optimizingprocesses,reducing
costs or pursuing any other strategies thatmay be needed.
Basedon this lineof thinking,CoimBrazil intents togrownot
onlyinfigures,butalsoininnovation,bylaunchingnewproducts
andbreaking intodifferentnichemarkets.”

thatbenefittheentiresupplychain,suchastechnology,quality,
safety,economy,andenvironmentallyfriendlysystems.
Themarket inproduction equipment has entered 2015with
goodgrowthprospects.Inaddition,manufacturersofproduc-
tionmachinesarealreadyontracktomakemassiveinvestments
forthenextfewyearstoensuregreatdeals.
According toHERO’sexecutivedirectorDanielOscarGondel-
man, his company is optimistic about 2015. “Themarketwill
resume last year’s slowgrowth for internal reasons, especially the
lackofconfidence inourpolitical leaders.However,Brazil isalready
startingtogetreadyformajorsportingevents,suchastheOlympic
Games,andthatwillbringaboutdevelopment intherealestatema-
rketandinhospitalityforinternationaltourists,whichalsoboostsour
industryof interest.For thisyear,weexpectourmarket togrow 15
percent.Besides,wehaveplannedinvestmentsinthelocationofour
headofficesinItaly,whichhousesourengineeringdepartment.Many
oftheparticulardevelopments inourproductrangeareadaptedto
meet the specific requirementsof eachapplication.Our proposed
solutionsare innovative, and investment innew technologies isan
integralpartofourcontinuousexpansionprocess.”
Despite thenegative influenceexertedby thebleakprospects for
the industrial chemicalsmarket,MoinhoPirâmide has very goods
expectationstoo.“Weenteredtheyear2015withfournewcontracts
todelivercompleteplantsinEuropeandCentralAmerica.Ouraggre-
gategrowthforthefiscalyear2015willbeapproximately26percent.
That,however,isstillnotenoughtoconfirmareversalofthe2013and
2014trend.Sadly,thestrongslowdown inBrazil’seconomyfor2014
surprisedeveryone inour industry.Accordingly,our investmentswill
befocusedonqualityandtechnology.Wefirmlybelievewewillgain
acompetitiveedgeoverthenextfewyearsbydeliveringcostsavings
clearlycombinedwithenvironmental compliance,”saysJuniorMa-
chado,manufacturingdirectoratMoinhoPirâmide.
Netzsch is another company showing confidence ingrowth in the
productionequipmentmarket, especially forapplications requiring
higher value-added products thatwill make our customersmore
competitive in respect of globally available products, and alsoby
virtueofastrongtrendtowardsadapting industrial facilitiestosafe-
tystandards, according tosalesmanagerRafael Ferreira. “Netzsch
Moagemisgoingtoopenanewmanufacturingplantin2015covering
anareaofaround9,500squaremetersandcomprisingproduction,
laboratoryandadministrativeareas,whichwill enableus todouble
ourproductioncapacitywithinfiveyears.Therefore,ourcustomers
willfindourcompanymoreflexibleconcerning leadtimes,andthey
willhavealarger,betterequippedlaboratoryforproductdemonstra-
tionsanddevelopment,aswellasabroaderportfolioofdomestically
madeequipment.”
CMCMilling’sbusinessdirectorJoséRicardoGiacobelli,ontheother
hand,thinksthattheyear2015wellseeaneconomicdownturnthat
