CELEBRATION
Therewas adouble celebration for this year’s edition
of the Paint & Pintura Awards. It was a special night
not only for thewinners in 51 categories, but also for
the initiative itself,as it reached its20thannualedition.
Heldat EspaçoVilados Ipês, inSãoPaulo, onMay06,
theaward ceremonywas attendedby731 representa-
tives of the industry, including leaders of its associa-
tions, such as Dilson Ferreira, executive president at
ABRAFATI (short in Portuguese for Brazilian Associa-
tionofPaintManufacturers), PauloCésarAbrantesde
Aguiar, executivedirector at Sitivesp (short forUnion
of SãoPauloStatePaint andCoatingManufacturers),
Antonio Carlos de Oliveira, executive president at
Sitivesp, Carlos Augusto Alves, chief executive officer at
Sintirj (short for Union of Paint Manufacturers in the City
of Riode Janeiro), AlexandreSouzaBrito, Sintirj represen-
tativeatFirjan (short forFederationofRiodeJaneiroState
Industries), andAlexandreBastos, vicepresident at Sintirj,
aswell as professionals of local paint companies and their
major suppliers of rawmaterials.
Asmasterofceremonies forthe20thPaint&PinturaAwards
was journalist and actress Juliana Franceschi, currently a
castmember for productions of the SBT channel and also
ahost on TVEsporte.
In his opening speech, Agnelo Editora’s chief executive
officerAgnelodeBarrosNeto congratulatedboth finalists
andwinners and talked about the importance of the 20th
