whohadtheopportunitytomeet27Indian-basedsuppliersofavariety
ofchemicalmaterialsand ingredients, resulting in283meetingsbeing
heldinoneday.Productsrangedfromreagents,finechemicalsandingre-
dientsforthepharmachemicalandveterinary industrytochemicalsfor
theagribusiness,cosmeticsandessentialoils,tocolorantsandpigments
fortanneriesandthetextileandfood industries,andto ingredientsfor
thepetrochemical industry,amongothers.
HeldbyChemexcil (which stands for BasicChemicals, Cosmetics and
Dyes Export PromotionCouncil), an agencywhich reports to India’s
TradeandIndustryMinistry,thesummitispartofacoordinatedbusiness
strategyaimedatexpandingbusinessbetweentheIndiansubcontinent
andLatinAmerica.

SITIVESP COUNTS VOTES FOR SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR
AWARDS
In their28thedition, theSupplierof theYearAwardsaregoing
tobepresentedby theRawMaterialsDepartment of Sitivesp
(short forUnionofSãoPauloStatePaintandCoatingManufac-
turers) tobest suppliers to the industry for the year 2015. The
votecountingeventtookplaceonOctober21attheFIESP(São
PauloState IndustriesFederation)headquarters, inSãoPaulo.A
totalofnineproductcategoriesweresurveyed:additives,mine-
ral fillers, packagingmaterials, pigments, solvent-based resins,
water-basedresins,solvents,chemicaldistribution,andresinraw
materials.Thevotecountforthe28theditionoftheSuppliersof
theYearAwardswasattendedbyapproximately40guests,who
watchedtheopeningofpollsandmeasurementofresultsforthe
surveyedcategories.ThevotecountwasledbyAirtonAparecido
Sicolin, advisor to theSitivespboardofdirectors,who thanked
all attendees for theirpresenceandstressed the importanceof
presentingthoseawards.
Withvotescast secretlyandvoluntarily, Sitivespmemberpaint
andcoatingscompaniessendsealed, confidential envelopes to
theunioncontainingtheirevaluationoftheirsuppliersbasedon
the following criteria: company-supplier relationship; qualityof
salesandafter-salesservices; timelydelivery;commercialpolicy;
productandprocessquality;technological innovation;andsocial
andenvironmentalresponsibility.Theawardsaretobepresented
onNovember 24th, duringSitivesp’s annual year-endmeeting
