INVESTMENTS - REALFIX TO OPEN INDUSTRIAL
COATINGSPLANT
ThemunicipalityofColombo,partof theCuritibametropo-
litanarea,Paraná,hasbeenselectedforsettingupRealfix’s
newplant,whichwill takeup8,000squaremeters inatotal
areaof22,000squaremetersand isexpectedtobeopened
up shortly. Currentlybased in the townof Pinhais, Paraná,
the companyalsohas abranch inSãoBentodoSul, Santa
Catarina, where they produce paints, varnishes, sealers,
stains,waxesandsolventsforthefurniture industry.Realfix
hasbeenmanufacturing industrial coatings since 1989and
supplying customers all across the Brazilian territory, and
has traditionallyspecialized inproducingandsellingpaints,
varnishes and solvents formetallurgy, coatings for galva-
nized steel, furniture, flexoprinting, and specialty articles
(helmets, hats, plaster items, brushes, paint brushes, and
partyfurniture).
“Wehave launchedavarietyofproductsover thepast few
years, among themproducts forbuses, gascanisters, com-
pliancewithPetrobras standards,water-based technology
and specialties,” says Daniele Fritzen, headof thepurcha-
singdepartment, adding that the company covers various
business segments and that, notwithstanding the current
scenarioinBrazil,theyhaveexperienceda12-percentincrease
inbusiness in thepast twoyearsnotonlywithin the rather
promising South region, but also in someof the country’s
otherregions.
AccordingtoFrancielleFritzen,headofthemarketingdepart-
ment,thechiefgoalpursuedbyRealfixhasbeentoestablish
itself as a company that provides differentiated products
andservices,detectingmarketneedsandmeetingthemby
offeringqualityproductsaswellassolutionsduringboththe
presale and after-salephases. “As a result, Realfixhas the
rightproductforthevariousrequirementsofourcustomers.
Inordertogettothispaint,ourcompanyhasinvestedinate-
chnicalteamwhoareatourcustomers’disposalforsitevisits,
productdevelopment,andtechnicalsupport.Consequently,
thefinalcoatingsystemwillalwaysmeettherequiredquality
standards,”Francielleassures.
RESINS - RESIN PRODUCT REACHES BRAZIL’S NORTH
ANDNORTHEAST
Witha100-percentfocusonmanufacturingresins,Resinorte
startsupselling,providingtechnicalsupport,andcustomizing
solutions.
WiththeResinortestart-up,nowBrazil’sNorthandNortheast
regionshavea local companyspecializing in resins,which is
located inMacaíba,RioGrandedoNorte.“We’vebeenpart
of the chemical industry for quite awhile, butweused to
manufacturemortarsandpaints.Wehavealsobeenprodu-
cingresinssince2013,butwedidsoonlyforconsumptionat
ourownpaintplant. In2015,however, anopportunityaroseand
we soldour company to Saint-Gobain. Thereupon, we created
Resinorte,acompany100-percent focusedonproducingresins,”
saysdirectorofoperationsJoséCameloSilveiraNeto.
Having just started up, Resinorte covers three different resin
chemistries - styrene, alkydandpolyester resins. “Our capacity
iscurrentlyat30,000metric tonsperyear,with full capacityex-
pected tobehitasearlyaswithin thefirst 12monthsofactivity.
Weprovideacrylic resins, styrene resins, andpureacrylic resins
in themost varied of concentrations, 50-percent solids being
obviously the standard, andwe also produce short, medium
and long-chainalkydresins,phenolicresins inthemostvariedof
solidsconcentrations,andunsaturatedpolyesterresins,”Silveira
Netopointsout.
EZYCOLOR HOLDS WORKSHOP ON ALUMINUM FRAME
COATINGS
EzyColor, a company specializing in coatings for aluminumdoor
andwindow frames, held aworkshop titled “AssuredQuality,
TotalSafety”atEspaçoAPAS,inSãoPaulo,backedbytheNational
AssociationofAluminumFrameManufacturers(AFEAL,theinitials
inPortuguese).The initiativewasmeantasawayofencouraging
actions thatwill fomentquality improvements in theproduction
processesofthealuminumdoorandwindowframeindustry.“Our
goalwastoenablethedevelopmentofasystemicviewofquality
in thealuminumsurfacecoatingsvaluechain, as thefinal quality
dependsnotonlyonthecoatingapplication,butalsoonthequality
of thealuminum tobe coated, thequalityof the coatings tobe
used, and then thequalityof theapplication. Andproviding the
latter isthepurposeoftheEzyColorapplicator,adevicedesigned
toapplypowdercoatingsontotoaluminumsurfaces,”sayschief
salesandmarketingofficerJorgeHenrique.
Duringtheforum,EzyColoralsointroducedQualicoat,arenowned
international organizationheadquartered in Zurich, Switzerland
and committed thequality of coating systems, such as powder
coatings for aluminum components in sustainable architecture
applications. “There’s regulatory and controlling authority, and
thatisQualicoat,whichmeanswehavetobeneitherenforcersnor
controllers.That isexactlywhyEzyColorreachedouttothemost
renowned international regulatoryauthorityoncoatingsquality,
havingalsoproceededtosecureourcertificationandstartedusing
theQualicoatsealofassuredquality,”remarksHenrique.
HenriqueaddsthatbothEzyColorandtheDFVGrouphavegreat
belief inBrazil.“It’sacountrythathasendlessresourcesand loads
ofpeoplewhowanttogetthingsdone,tochangeandtogrow.For
thisreason,ourgoal istocontributetheexpertiseandtechnology
thatwe bring you from Italy to the development of new color
options,woodfinishspecialeffects,andqualitypowdercoatings
intheBrazilianmarketplace.We’d likeallofourcompetitorstobe
more concernedwithquality, and that involves acknowledging
regulatoryorganizations.
