oritiesforhistenure.“We’vehadan18-yearvirtuouscircleunder
DilsonFerreira,whobroughtstandardization,newtechnologies
andanexpansivevisiontothepaintandcoatings industry.Our
aimnow is tofindways to revitalizeBrazil for the21stcentury,
becausethe Industry-SpecificQualityProgramsthathavebeen
implementedarealreadycalling foranextcycle that isfit fora
developed country, but getting therewill take some changes
inour country’s consumptionprofile -for example, applying a
freshcoatofpaintshouldbe limitedtowhenyoumovetoanew
home,whensomeonediesorwhenthepaintwork isdegraded.
Accordingly, we intend to refresh Abrafati’s image to reflect
our strengthened commitment to the functionality of coat-
ings, to thepsychological aspects of colors, to thewell-being

Oliveira also tells us that Abrafati has a structured focus on
innovation. “The challenge facing us is to foster innovation
notonly in technology, but also in termsof sustainability. Ina

use of paints can be expanded to, how they are formulated,
andwhat thefinal disposalwill beof thewaste they leavebe-

Recognized as oneof themost important events for the
paintandcoatings industryworldwide,Abrafati2017,taking
placeonOctober3through5atSãoPauloExpo -Exhibition
& Convention Center, is going to bring together leading
companies and thousands of professionals interested in
gaining knowledge andmaking deals, having positive ef-
fects on the industryover time in terms of bothbusiness
andtechnologicalevolution.
Theevent is set to receiveover 10,000visitors fromBrazil
and dozens of other countries, and its chief focus is on

hibitspaceavailable inthehallshasbeentakenup.“There’s
room left for only 10more companies at best. SãoPaulo
Expohasundergonemajor improvementsboth intheexist-
ingfacilitiesandtheexpansion. It’satotalareaof100,000
squaremeters, but Abrafati 2017will occupy just 20,000
squaremetersof exhibit space,which includes its entire
mezzanine structure and six auditoriums thatwill house
thecongress.Wearegoingtobeatthenewarea,atotally
modernhallwithallof theappropriate infrastructure.”
