On the pages ahead, we announce the winners of the 1st Paint & Pintura Regional Awards, an initiative debuting in the North/Northeast region. This is yet another milestone in the history of Agnelo Editora, which for 22 years has been presenting annually the traditional Paint & Pintura Awards, better known as the “Oscars” of the industry, in the city of São Paulo. Thismajor initiative by Agnelo Editora has gained traction following the sheer growth that the coatings industry has displayed in the Brazil’s North andNortheast regions. This is why the first edition of the Paint & Pintura Regional Awards is dedicated to them. The award presentation is taking place onMarch 9 at Alices Buffet, in Fortaleza, the state capital of Ceará. The 1st Paint & Pintura Regional Awards are honoring 16 suppliers of raw materials, one paint company, and four industry personalities who stood out in the local market over the course of 2017. Altogether, winners in 21 catego- ries were chosen by the industry through a poll posted on the PaintShow web portal, which started on November 6, 2017 and ended on February 20, 2018. Having raised great expectation from the word go and expecting to bring together representatives of all leading businesses making up the region’s coatings supply chain, the event is sponsored by major companies like AVCO, BASF, Bomix, Colormix, and Wana Química, as well as backed by Eastman, Elementis Specialties, IMCD, and Sindquímica, the chemical industry’s union in the FIEC (Ceará State Industry Federation) system. Find out ahead who the winners are for this inaugural, North/Northeast edition of the Paint & Pintura Regional Awards. OnMarch 8, the eve of the Regional Awards, Agnelo Edi- tora is holding the 34th Paint & Pintura Coatings Techno- logy and Management Forum for the Northeast Region, which is also being hosted by Fortaleza, at Hotel Luzeiros. The forum is another event backed by Sindquímica, with sponsorship and lectures on technical and management- -related topics provided by major industry players. As the saying goes in Brazil, “only after carnival does the year begin.” And so it most definitely has for Agnelo Editora, as it promises, through those twomajor events entirely directed at the paint and coatings industry, to spread knowledge, informa- tion and innovation during the forum, while honoring valuable businesses and individuals in the North and Northeast regions with the awards, and thus bringing together the whole of the local coatings supply chain for both events. We have only just begun. Agnelo Editora already has it all planned out in a schedule of events for the entire year. In the month of April, the Paint & Pintura Forum is going to Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul. Come May, it’s time for the much-awaited 22nd Paint &Pintura Awards, which is expected to take place on the 18th at Espaço Villa dos Ipês, in São Paulo. Going forward, more editions of the forumwill be held in Lon- drina, Paraná, in June, Goiânia, Goiás, in August, and Criciúma, Santa Catarina, in September. Last but not least, the Paint & Pintura Coatings and Construction Chemicals Forumand Exhi- bition Latin America will be hosted by Campinas, São Paulo. In this way, Agnelo Editora has been delivering on its mission and expects to keep onmaking great contributions to growth in the coatings industry.
