RENNER COATINGS OPENS CHILE PLANT Renner Herrmann Brazil has just opened a new industrial coatings plant in the Chilean district of Pudahuel. At the new facilities, where it currently employs 120 people, the company produces a wide range of industrial paints and coatings, while having a laboratory devoted to research and development, and that streamlines their process of developing new technologies for all markets served. Indeed, the group serves customers in a variety of markets, and has 11 plants on three continents, doing business in 80 countries as a producer of industrial paints and coatings, such as wood varnishes. In Chile, they operate two sites, a Renner Coating plant in the municipality of Pudahuel, and a Renner Sayerlack plant in the municipality of Lampa. The company’s history in Chile began in 1993with the founding of Pinturas Renner Chile S.A., and consolidated upon its 2011 acquisition of Pinturas Creizet, a leadingmanufacturer of intu- mescing paints, and the 2012 acquisition of Pinturas Cerrillos, a company with a large share in the industrial coatings market, as well as a leading fishnet producer. “It’s been more than 25 years of a very positive experience in the Chilean marketplace, where Renner Coatings is on an upward curve,” Francisco Estandes, general manager at Renner Coatings Chile SpA, says. CELEBRATION - CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS FOCUSED ON INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY Swiss-based Archroma is part of the private investment firm SK Capital Partners. Developing and providing spe- cialty chemicals and colorants to customers in the textile, paper, paint and coatings, adhesive, and building and construction industries, Archroma is celebrating its five years of existence in October of 2018. Even though it is young company, it has a strong heritage and technologies acquired fromhighly reputable compa- nies like Sandoz, Hoechst, and Clariant. To complement its offerings, Archroma has also acquired BASF’s textile chemicals business and, more recently, the company M. Dohmen, which specializes in colorants for automotive coatings. “With the specialty businesses acquired from Clariant and BASF, the truth is we have a 130-year his- tory,” Agnelo Andrade, product steward and marketing manager, Construction, Adhesives &Sealants, points out. Today, Archroma’s operations employ approximately 3,000 people around the globe. It has 24 production plants and global certifications under the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 andOHSAS 18001:2007 standards. “We’ve been present in the Brazilian market for over 50 years,” Andrade concludes.
