DISTRIBUTION - COMMITTED TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Now with 24 years of experience in the Brazilian market, Interbrasil, since 2011, after a large restructuring and expansion of its business units, began to distribute chemicals. “At the beginning, the company’s main focus was on exports of wood furniture, components and derivatives. However, in 2011, we branched out to the chemical distribution market as well. With know-how in foreign trade, we consolidate strong partnerships with major global manufacturers to import and distribute a variety of chemicals,” says officer Marcelo Barbosa Lima. The chemical division serves customers in the paint and coatings, foam, plastic, cosmetic, food, rubber and ceramics industries, amongmany others. The export segment mainly works with furniture, lumber for pallets, textiles and ceramics, among other products. “Since the creation of the chemical di- vision, Interbrasil has been growing steadily and gainingmarket recognition, including the coatings industry. This can be seen in our constant evolution at the Paint & Pintura Awards, where, in the last four years, we have been awarded among the best suppliers of titanium dioxide, being the only distri- butor awarded among large global manufacturer,” Lima enthuses. INDUSTRY IN THE SPOTLIGHT - 30 YEARS OF EXISTENCE, BUT 100 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Celebrating 30 years of its founding, Dynatech specializes in producing colo- rants, pigments and optical brighteners. “We’ve been two business partners from the beginning, me andmy brother, Rafael Merino. Our company started out as a trading company headquartered in the district of Brooklyn, in São Paulo, engaged in a business in which we remain the market leaders to this day, consisting of colorants, pigments and optical brighteners, whichmeans our business is the world of colors. However, at first, we would only import and sell on these products to serve the paint and coatings, plastic, textile and a only a few other industries. Over the years, our company evolved, and in 1998we decided to produce certain colorants in our facilities in Diadema, São Paulo. From then on, we ushered in a market that did not exist in Brazil - for colorants. We thenwent on to be the first tomanufacture high-performance liquid colorants for the pulp and paper industry, and todaywe are the colorant market leaders in this industry, with about 80-percent market share,” says chief executive Luis Merino. One of the key moments in Dynatech’s history and growth trajectory was when the partners acquired in 2007 the company Enia Indústrias Químicas from the Odebrecht group, the first pigment and colorant plant in the Sou- thern Hemisphere. “Our company’s expansion followed the Enia acquisition. Enia, which would now be turning 100 years old, became an integral part of our structure and development, especially in terms of products, as some of products it manufactured are still produced by our company today. Accordin- gly, rather than focusing on our 30 years of business in the marketplace, we stress our 100 years’ experience with specialty chemicals,” Luis Merino says.
