Associquim-Sincoquim wins 1st Fecomercio
Sustainability Award
The PRODIR (Responsible Distribution Process) im-
plemented at Associquim-Sincoquim was the win-
ner of the 1st Fecomercio Sustainability Award in
the Unions and Entities category. The award was
presented on September 23 at Fecomercio’s head-
quarters, in São Paulo, during a ceremony atten-
ded by commerce businessmen and personalities.
The Fecomercio Sustainability Awards were laun-
ched last year as part of the celebration of the
entity’s 70th anniversary. A total of 28 projects
were competing, distributed into four categories:
Large Businesses; Small and Medium-Sized Busi-
nesses; Micro-Businesses; and Unions and Entities.
The creation of the Fecomercio Sustainability
Awards was part of the Fecomercio Sustainable
campaign, designed to encourage the creation
of practical, feasible solutions that contribute to
environmental preservation.
An important aspect of the awards is that they
enable small and medium-sized businesses with
limited funds to carry out major sustainable pro-
jects. According to Fecomercio, the event is also
intended to draw the attention of businessmen to
the importance of taking social and environmen-
tal responsibility. Overall, all projects introduced
innovative, practical ideas which are increasingly
needed, getting very good grades from the organi-
zation and judging board.
“We thank all PRODIR members, coordinators and
advisors, whose hard work and dedication created
the conditions that we needed in order to win this
prestigious award,” celebrates Rubens Medrano,
president of Associquim-Sincoquim.
Adexim-Comexim holds 5th Technical Seminar
It has become a tradition for Adexim-Comexim’s
customers to attend and participate in the techni-
cal seminar that precedes the Brazilian Association
of Paint Manufacturers’ (Abrafati) Congress and
Exhibition. This year was no exception. Around 70
people took turns in the chairs of the company’s
auditorium in the capital of São Paulo on Septem-
ber 22, from 9 am to 6 pm.
According to Carlos Russo, director of Adexim-
Comexim, the massive attendance by customers
demonstrates that the seminar has become es-
sential for publicizing the developments from the
companies represented, while solving doubts about
a series of raw materials: “Our guests have been
participating quite massively. Even the number
of questions has increased. Which is interesting
because fewer people would ask questions in the
previous editions since, in theory, they were all
competitors in the market,” he ponders.
Russo adds that for a year when a major crisis
stopped companies from investing, having held an
event like this is proof that the chemical distribu-
tor believes in a market rebound and of its sense of
responsibility for seeking the best solutions for the
products of its customers: “We must invest in our
customers’ competitiveness,” he sums up.
The 5th Technical Seminar comprised lectures
delivered by international authors, such as those
provided by Germany-based Worlée Chemical,
which sent Stefan Mansell for the lecture on spe-
cialty additives and alkyd emulsions, Spain-based
Mineral Girona, represented by Pablo Seijo, who
spoke about specialty fillers, barium sulfate, talcs,
