may occur. Cláudio Conz, president of the National Construc-
tion Retailers Association, known for short as Anamaco, said
that sales increased by 3.5 percent from January to July, which
may lead retailers to gain less than the GDP. He pointed out,
however, that there are bright prospects for building and cons-

to consumers.
“Held at a time of uncertainty in the international context, the
effects of which on Brazil are hard to anticipate, this year’s
Abrafati Forum was particularly important. It showed that we
have many opportunities and challenges ahead of us, which are
to be considered in our planning and decision-making proces-

Events - Sitivesp launches Feitintas 2012
The 8th edition of the Feitintas Paint, Coatings and Related Pro-
ducts trade show will take place on September 19 to 22, 2012 at
the Imigrantes Exposition Center, in São Paulo. August 22 saw
the official launch of the trade show at ABIFA (Brazilian Cas-
ting Association), in São Paulo, bringing together exhibitors and
sponsors to the primary trade show for the paint and coatings
industry in Latin America.
During the function, the companies interested to participate in
Feitintas 2012 were shown the floor plan for the show, which
will take up an exhibit space of 14,500 sq. m with booths ran-
ging from 20 to 300 sq. m, and also in other sizes available to
meet each exhibitor’s specific requirements.
Created by the São Paulo State Union of Paint and Coatings
Manufacturers, known for short as Sitivesp, Feitintas is a trade
show held every two years specifically focusing on the require-
ments and the development of the paint value chain, covering
the trends and innovations in the industry.
“The expectations for this launch couldn’t be better, not only
because the trade show further consolidates itself each year,
but also because the paint and coatings industry has evolved
constantly in terms of both technology and sales performance,
playing a major role in the Brazilian economy,” said Narciso
Moreira Preto, Vice President of Sitivesp and director of Feitin-
tas 2012.
The next edition of the trade show will be another opportunity
of manufacturers of decorative and artistic paints, industrial
and automotive coatings to close new deals, exchange infor-
mation and increase their sales. In the same spirit, the trade
show will include training for paint
professionals through courses and
lectures.

success
In the year of its 30th anniversary,
paint company Hydronorth, a mem-
ber of the Green Building Council
Brazil, celebrates by launching the
first Brazilian line of sustainable
construction products.
Yet 30 years of existence is not the
only thing Hydronorth has to cele-

wing faster than the market year af-
ter year, gaining 23 percent in 2010
alone, for example. Although it’s
been a good period for the economy,
