PAINT & PINTURA
Innovation and sustainability
Abrafati 2011
T
Trade show has record number of exhibitors, exceeding 200 companies, which
represents an increase of more than 25 percent over the 2009 edition
o be held from
November 21 to 23,
2001 at Transamerica
Expo Center, in São Paulo,
Abrafati 2001 will be
focused on innovation
and sustainability, bringing in at first
hand numerous launches and new
developments in innovative products,
services and technologies for the
paint industry. The trade show is
organized and held by the Brazilian
Association of Paint Manufacturers,
known of short as Abrafati.
Abrafati 2011 is going to bring toge-
ther more than 200 exhibitors, a re-
cord number, more than 30 of which
are Brazilian and foreign companies
exhibiting at their own booths for the
first time. “The presence of these com-
panies demonstrates that the trade
show is viewed as a great opportunity
for companies to close new deals,
establish new business relationships
and expand their customer base. At
the same time, it reveals a growing
international interest in Brazil,” says
Dilson Ferreira, Abrafati’s CEO.
Brazil’s growth potential and its
position as a leader and business
epicenter for Latin America certainly
lead more and more international
suppliers to follow the country with
great interest, and Abrafati 2011 is an
excellent opportunity for networking
with such a promising market.
Read below our interview with
Abrafati’s CEO Dilson Ferreira, who
tells us about the show in more detail.
Paint & Pintura Magazine: What
will be the focal point of the exhi-
bit for this year?
Dilson Ferreira:
The focus on inno-
vation and sustainability that has
been set for Abrafati 2011 goes to the
exhibition as well, where countless
launches and developments driven by
these themes will be on display. The
trade show will be a great opportuni-
ty for the paint industry to show its
commitment to develop increasingly
sustainable and advanced solutions.
Paint & Pintura Magazine: What
will be new about the exhibition?
Dilson Ferreira:
A large number of
innovative products, services and te-
chnologies are going to be launched.
The very wide range of novel offe-
rings that is going to be introduced
can be said to provide an overview
of the current state of the art and
the paths to the development of the
paint industry and its products. All
companies attending the exhibit in
search of resources and new ideas to
improve their processes and paints
will certainly have their expecta-
tions met, finding a broad variety of
options.
Paint & Pintura Magazine: What is
the number of exhibitors at Abra-
fati 2011? Has it increased from
2009?
Dilson Ferreira:
We are having a
record number of exhibitors, excee-
ding 200 companies, which represents
more than 25-percent increase com-
pared to 2009. Even more important
than the number, however, is the
quality of the exhibitors. All major
global players will be there, who
invest billions of dollars every year
in research and development, which
means that all of the most innovati-
ve things in our value chain will be
shown at the exhibition.
Paint & Pintura Magazine: How
many companies are going to be
participating at the trade show for
the first time ever?
Dilson Ferreira:
More than 30 Brazi-
lian and international companies will
have their own booth at the exhibit
this year. Many others have partici-
pated before, but didn’t come for the
latest editions. In that universe, some
companies are new, others have either
grown or diversified their business,
and there are suppliers based in other
countries which had never paid so
much attention to Brazil before. The
presence of these companies demons-
trates that our trade show is viewed
as a major opportunity for them to
close new deals, establish new busi-
ness relationships and expand their
customer base. At the same time, it
