Industry in the Spotlight - A Chemical
Solution Mix
With more than 60 years of existence, Bandeiran-
te Brazmo, part of the Formitex group’s chemical
business, embodies into one company a comprehen-
sive chemical distribution structure for Latin
America. “We are one of the most respected and
most widely recognized distributors to customers in
the paint industry, providing a powerful range of
chemical solutions from the global companies that
we represent. BYK, for example, has launched envi-
ronmentally friendlier additives with a sustainable
approach. In fact, the company has a new working
philosophy in place, known as Greenability, which
basically consists of providing one sustainable al-
ternative to each type of additive, using lower-VOC
formulations and raw materials from renewable
sources,” stresses Carlos Fernando de Abreu, Vice
President, Formitex Chemicals.
The company took its whole product range to
Abrafati 2011, where they introduced new chemi-
cal solutions and more sustainable raw materials.
“After years in this market, we come to Abrafati
2011 bringing new developments to the market,
as we distribute chemicals from companies that
play a highly active role in this innovation process.
For the paint industry specifically, we carry pro-
ducts from BYK, Cabot, Rhodia, Dow, Lucite, Huber,
Kamin, Sartomer, Cray Valley and Dow, all key
players in the business. Only Bandeirante Braz-
mo has partners like Petrobras, Braskem, Oxiteno,
Rhodia and Dow to formulate solvents and supplies
titanium dioxide from DuPont (some of the best in
the world), BYK additives, Lucite, Cray Valley and
Sartomer resins, and our line of resins produced by
Denver. We have a very powerful product mix that
puts us in an excellent position as one of the most
competent players in the distribution market.
New Board Member
Bandeirante Brazmo has recently announced the
appointment of João Miguel Chamma, a highly
qualified individual well-known in the market-
place, to be its new Sales Director, effective as of
December 2011. “Bandeirante Brazmo is a lea-
ding chemical distributor, very well-positioned in
the market, and has a fantastic customer service
structure. For this reason, I’m very pleased to start
facing this challenge of directing sales. The com-
pany has great potential for growth in structure
and products and a professional team that will add
value to the market and our customers, as well as a
lot of knowledge. We envisage growth for the short
and mid-term, and very intense expansion in busi-
ness,” Chamma said.
Industry in the Spotlight - A color strategy
DL Color was created by the combination of two
activities: sales and manufacturing. Its founder,
Luiz Antonio de Morais, became known in the ma-
rketplace through his former company Lu Color, lo-
cated in São Paulo, where he started out managing
sales activities, working for years as a pigment and
colorant sales representative and distributor to
customers in various market segments. “My expe-
rience is built on 15 years as sales representative
and manager in this segment, developing and cus-
tomizing pigment dispersions for textiles, decorati-
ve paints, school paints and balloons according to
the needs of each customer, while assuring quality
services and products,” says Morais.
In early 2011, Morais resolved to create DL Color,
located in Itatiba, São Paulo. “It’s a company which
is emerging with great strength to serve our custo-
mers as best we can on the back of the experience
gained over years of work at Lu Color with pigment
dispersions featuring outstanding performance,
providing great value for money, ensuring excep-
tional performance and great weatherability, while
imparting high durability and maintaining physi-
cal and chemical properties,” Morais stresses.
