Pintura Coatings Technology and Management Forum
for the second time; program includes high-end lec-
This 165th issue is a more than special publication. The Paint & Pintura magazine brings you first-hand coverage of
the most important trade show in the chemical distribution industry, the 6th Ebdquim, held by Associquim-Sincoquim
(short for Brazilian Association of Chemical and Petrochemical Distributors and Union of São Paulo State Chemical
and Petrochemical Wholesalers).
Held in Praia do Forte, Bahia, the event addressed its main theme —“Green Chemistry and Petrochemistry: Impacts
on Distribution”— by means of lectures on the so-called “Green Chemistry” from the industry’s perspective, as well as
panel discussions on raw materials (ethanol, shale gas and oil), and the 10 years of success of the Prodir program in
Brazil’s chemical distribution.
Speaking of success, on April 25 and 26 Agnelo Editora will be resuming the Paint & Pintura Coatings Technology and
Management Forums, which will be taken back to Fortaleza and is expected to be as successful is it was in 1st edition,
held in March 2011. To learn a little more about the forum, read the full article, which contains the lecture program
on page 47.
One other major event was held by Sintirj (short for Union of Paint and Coatings Manufacturers and Vegetable and
Animal Oil Processers in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro) on March 22 to honor Rio de Janeiro’s best players of the
year. These included: Oswaldo Cruz Química, as Company of the Year; Saver Resinas e Produtos Químicos, for Resins;
Liarte Metalquímica, for Emulsions; Transcor, for Pigments; Mineração Ipiranga, for Fillers and Extenders; Water-
cryl Química, for Thickeners and Rheology Modifiers; Alcolina, for Additives; Thor Brazil, for Biocides; Metalgráfica
Módulo Renner, for Metallic Packaging; Bomix, for Non-Metallic Packaging; Bandeirante Brazmo, for Chemical Distri-
bution; IQ Soluções & Química, for Solvents; and Marcus Noya, of Bomix, as Personality of the Year. Congratulations to
all winners!
And speaking of great events, winners, etc., this issue brings you readers the list of finalists for the 16th Paint & Pin-
tura Awards, which will be presented on May 4 at Espaço Vila dos Ypês, in São Paulo.
Paint & Pintura also brings you the most relevant information and trends in the markets for titanium dioxide, tinting
systems and colorants for tinting systems.
