for 2013
The October issue brings you comprehensive information on the 7th Paint & Pintura Coatings Technology and Management
Forum for the Southeast Region, which will be held for the first time in the city of Ribeirão Preto, upstate São Paulo. The
event will take place on October 2 and 3, ending Agnelo Editora’s 2012 forum program on a high note.
With a large number of registered attendees and high-end lectures, the regional forums are more than firmly established in
the paint industry. Now the expectations revolve around the 2013 editions. Here are the dates and places of the Paint & Pin-
tura forums to be held next year: for the Northeast region, March 6 and 7, 2003 in Recife, Pernambuco; for the South region,
April 11 and 12, 2013 in Joinville, Santa Catarina, August 6 and 7, 2013 in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, and October
17 and 18, 2013 in Curitiba, Paraná; and for the Southeast region, June 5 and 6, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro.
In addition, Agnelo Editora has released the program for its forums on Industrial Coatings: Sorocaba, São Paulo, in March
2013; Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in June 2013; Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, in August 2013; and Recife, Pernambuco,
in October 2013. Altogether, nine forums will be held in all parts of Brazil with the mission of spreading information on the
paint industry.
For the special interview of this month’s issue, the Paint & Pintura magazine brings you a firsthand conversation with PPG’s
new president for Brazil and South America. With more than 20 years of experience at a large multinational, Carlos Alberto
Oliveira Santa Cruz comes in as part of a new stage at PPG, which has already started to implement projects with a view to
becoming a Brazilian market leader.
Be sure to read the news on three key segments of the paint industry, namely, defoamers, special and effect pigments, and
bulk canisters, drums and containers, which are all based on accounts from major suppliers to the industry in Brazil. The
latest developments in these three segments primarily relate to more sustainable products.

he tells us that the wheels have been set in motion.

my third day at the company because I believe this
