Paint Industry’s“Oscar”Awaitedwith
Great Anticipation
TheMay issueof Paint&PinturaMagazine is themost
important of the year, as it brings you exclusively the
complete results of the Paint & Pintura Survey, high-
lighting thewinners in 51 categories, including suppli-
ers of rawmaterials, paint companies, and industry
personalities.
Conductedvia the Internet, commencingonDecember
15, 2014 and ending onMarch 31, 2015, the survey has
provided paint manufacturers with an opportunity to
elect theirbest suppliersof rawmaterialsaccording to
such criteria as specifications, partnership, lead times,
pricing, services and volume. There are 38 categories
for suppliers, including the special “Master Company”
category,wheretheaward ispresentedtothecompany
having had the most mentions and scored the most
point indifferent categories.
Inthesevencategories forpaintcompaniesof theyear,
the best manufacturers were selected by representa-
tives of suppliers according to such criteria as quality,
investments,product launches, respect fortheenviron-
ment, and social responsibility.
Thesixpersonalitiesoftheyearareelectedbyrepresen-
tativesofsuppliers, too.However, theyaretheonlycat-
egoriesthatgothroughtworoundsofvote.Forthefirst
round, the names of the professionalsmost voted for
are collected, and at the second roundmanufacturers
andsuppliersfinallyelect thebestprofessionalsof theyear.
In addition to presenting awards in all of these categories,
AgneloEditora alsopays honors to twomajor personalities
in the paint and coatings industry. Being honored this year
are Dilson Ferreira, executive president Abrafati (short in
PortugueseforBrazilianAssociationofPaintManufacturers),
andVicenteLozargoFilho,chiefexecutiveofficeratCerviflan.
Thewinners in51categoriesandthetwoprofessionalsbeing
honored at the 19th edition of the Paint & Pintura Awards
will bepresentedwith their trophies in the eveningofMay
8at Vilados Ipês, inSãoPaulo.

fessionals,Allnex intendstobea leadingcompany inthe
LatinAmerican resin segment.
Aiming for further growth in Latin America, Allnex an-
nouncedearlierthisyear itsacquisitionofÁguiaQuímica,
one of the largest manufacturers of alkyd and acrylic
resins for paints, composites, adhesives and abrasives,
andalsoengaged in solventdistribution inBrazil.
Following the acquisition, Allnex, which has a lot of
business in the automotive and packaging industries,
expanded even further its share in other markets, such as
decorative and industrial coatings, with a comprehensive
product rangeandanexpandedportfolio.
Allnex’s technical director for Latin America Paulo Roberto
Vieira Junior tells us how the integration between the two
companies is coming along, and also about the investments
that are yet tobemadeover thenext severalmonths. “The
acquisition took place on January 6, and Allnex is generally
inpursuit of growth. Allnex has placed its focus ongrowing
our business through acquisitions and joint ventures, and
this is the way we have found to bring better results into
themarketplace.We’d longbeen looking for anopportunity
in the LatinAmericanmarket, wherewe still don’t have any
