Kryll AdvancedMaterials, who represents themultinational
Cardolite Corporation in Brazil, in bringing innovations for
Abrafati2015,withanumberofnewproductsbasedoncashew
nutshell liquid(CNSL),accordingtogeneralmanagerMarcelo
Nogueira.“Oneoftheseproducts istheNX-8101curingagent,
thefirstphenalkamine for thewater-basedepoxyused in the
concrete industry.Wearealso launchingLite2100,asubstitute
for liquidhydrocarbon resins (coumarone),andtheLite3025,
which isanalternativesuchcuringagentsasmedium-viscosity,
plant-based reactivepolyamides. TheCNSL isextracted from
shell anddoes not affect the fruit, thus havingno impact on
the foodchain.”
Another new development from Cardolite is the Ultra Lite
product line. “It is the evolution of traditional CNSL-based
products, featuring very bright, almost clear colors, while
keepingupahighperformance,which sets themapart from
traditional epoxycuringagents,”Nogueiraadds.
LANXESS
In addition to showcasing its current broad range of
inorganicpigmentsatAbrafati2015,Lanxess isexhibiting
itsnewredshades.The InorganicPigmentsbusinessunit
currentlyproduces thesenewgrades in itsGermanpilot
plant in Krefeld-Uerdingen, but from 2016 they will be
manufactured in the new production plant in Ningbo,
China. Theywill bemarketedgloballyunder the trusted
Bayferroxbrandnameandrepresentafurtherexpansion
of theproductportfolioof theworld’s largest ironoxide
producer,” says JörgHellwig, headof the InorganicPig-
mentsbusinessunit.
Thenewplantfor ironoxideredpigments inNingbo,whi-
chhasbeenbuilt to the latestenvironmental standards,
isbeingdesigned for an initial annual synthesiscapacity
of 25,000metric tons.
