33,000 squaremeters,withabuilt-uparea
of 17,000,hasaworkforceof300employe-
es and contractors, and is set apart by its
ISO9001 certification.
A family-run business founded by Gerson
Bachiega Pedro, business director, the
company now also relies on the help and
contribution from his wifeMagda Monéa
Pedro, co-owner and director, and their
three children Alessandra, sales director,
Caroline, manufacturing director, and
ThiagoMonéa Pedro, controller. “Before
running the company, I was a chemical salesman to the sugar and
water treatment industries. Thatwas until 1976,when I decided to
startmyownbusiness.Andso itwasthat IestablishedEuroamerican
in a small space in SãoPaulo, where I startedproducing chemicals
for those same industries,” saysGersonPedro.
In 1979GersonPedropurchaseda largearea in Jandira, and in 1983
the companymoved to its new address, where it has been to this
day. “In 1985 I invested in our first reactor, ushering in our own
productionofPVA resins,whichwas later followedbyacrylic resins,
whenwebegan to serve thepaint andcoatings industry. Todaywe
have 11 reactorswith capacity for 2,500 tons of resins per month,
overall shipments ranging from2,500 to3,500 tonspermonth, and
oneof the largestwaterborne resinplants inBrazil,”GersonPedro
pointsout.
Since the company was already producing several rawmateri-
als for the paint industry, Gerson Pedro decided to start making
paints. “In 1999 I setupanewplant thatwas focusedonproducing
waterproofing coatings, glues and paints and experienced rapid
growth, and from it we’ve been supplying water-based paints,
