The consumptionof ‘green’ defoamers has in-
creased, especially indecorative and industrial
coatings. We are attentive tomarket and cus-
tomerrequirements,alwaysseekingto innovate
and continuously improveour additives. And if
wedetermine that differentiatedproducts are
needed, thenwe candevelopproducts for dif-
ferent segments.”
The latest innovations have come to keep up
with market requirements concerning both
cost reductions andmore specific needs, ac-
cording to Braschemical’s technical manager
AliceCanton. “Weprovide additivesmadeout
of materials from renewable sources, as well
as defoamers that meet the requirements for
environment-friendliness, such as those of
UV-curingwaterborne coatings and zero-VOC,
APE-freeadditives.”
ORGANICPIGMENTS - COLORINGPROPERLY
Organic pigments are gainingmore andmore ground in the paint
world, especiallydue to their sustainabilityandhighperformance.
The economic crisis has indeed affected the coatings industry in
general and, as a result, the organic pigment segment specifically,
asmost of them are imported. On theother hand, is has also crea-
tedopportunities for the industry. “The crisismakes us rethinkand
accelerate the restructuringofourbusiness.Theword is to focuson
pigments thosepigments that reallymatter, todiversify, importing
performance and specialty pigments, towork on newmarkets, to
seeknew internationalpartnerships, and toprospect fornewcusto-
mers.We’reveryconfident inthefuture,andwe’refocusingoncolor

saysColornet’schiefexecutiveofficerMarcosRaicher.
Raicher adds that despite the economic downturn, there are good
opportunitiesforexpandingtheshareoforganicpigments inthema-

Asregardstrends intheorganicpigment industry,sustainablegrowth
seems likely, so long as businesses provemorewilling to bank on
less hazardous products, according to Sintequímica’s sales director
MarceloAmaralLeitedeMacedo.“Althoughhazardousproducts like
