EVENTS - ABRAFATI 2015 BOOSTS GROWTH AND
DEVELOPMENT INTHE INDUSTRY
With250exhibitors,90 lectures,simultaneouseventsand
four plenary sessions, ABRAFATI 2015 brought together
suppliers from all over theworld and leading paint and
coatings manufacturers based in Latin America, who
closed deals, discussed joint efforts, strengthened their
relationshipsandexchangedknowledgeand information.
For its 14th edition in 2015, theABRAFATI Congress and
Exhibitionwasagreatopportunityforvisitorstofamiliarize
themselveswith thousands of newly launchedproducts
and innovativesolutionsforthepaintandcoatings industry
in a total areaof 24,000 squaremeters,whichmade it a
businessstimulusenvironment.
Inall, ABRAFATI 2015 received 12,666visitors fromBrazil
and 41 other countries and once again achieved great
results in respect of its major objectives: disseminating
knowledge, stimulating technological development, and
generating business. It was attended by a substantial
numberof foreignvisitors toboth theexhibitionand the
congress.
“At theexhibition,wemetwithallof thekeysuppliersof
rawmaterials to thepaint industryworldwide,whowere
eagertotalktopaintmanufacturersandshowcasingtheir
products,actingasasourceof informationontechnology
appliedtoproducts(rawmaterials),whiledemonstrating
their impactsonendproducts (paints)andon thesupply
tocustomersandendconsumers. It’saboutsustainability.
Suppliers introduced theirproductsat the tradeshow fo-
cusingon thecontribution theymake to thesupplychain
in terms of sustainability,” says ABRAFATI’s executive
presidentDilsonFerreira.
Ferreira says that thepaintmanufacturers that attended
theexhibitionare important to their suppliers. “All paint
and coatingsmanufacturers inLatinAmericahave come
toABRAFATI 2015, alongwithahugevarietyof suppliers.
We’re going through a crisis, whichmeanswe’re selling
less and facing challenges, and thebest thingwe cando
in such a situation is bringing together suppliers looking
to sell and paint manufacturers looking to buy. Getting
these twohighly important sidesof themarket together
for threedays, sothattheycouldnegotiateandmakethebest
of it by sellingmore andbuyingbetter, is exactlywhatwe’ve
accomplished.”
The trade show exceeded the expectations of ABRAFATI’s
executivepresident notonly innumbers, but also in the satis-
faction levelsmeasuredamong thosepresent. “Whatwe saw
asaresultwasabeautiful,well-equippedandwell-represented
trade show attended by audiences that were both right and
interested,whichultimatelymade foraverywell-put-together
event.Duringthetradeshow,peoplewerecheerfulandhappy,
andwe, theorganizers,wereverypleasedby thisoutcome.”
According toABRAFATI 2015coordinatorTelmaFlorêncio, the
trade showwas a fabulous success. “We’re extremely happy
because the resultwassogood, thespacewasverybusywith
people, customerswere there, and sowas all of the coatings
industry,makingeveryone in itssupplychainreallysatisfied.We
workingtowardsdevelopingmoresustainablenewproductsto
meet thedemands fromour consumers, in this is theprimary
goal of ABRAFATI, that is, gathering knowledge andbringing
togetherpeoplewhounderstandthebusiness,whounderstand
technologies,andwhocanconstructthepaintofthefuture.At
theassociationandduring theentire show,wekeep thinking
abouthowtomakethingsbetter,howtodevelopnewproducts
that canbe friendlier andcontribute to reducing theamounts
of rawmaterials consumed, whiledeliveringbetter results to
customers. The250exhibitorsweregladwith thepresenceof
customers,whowereabletodiscusstheirneeds indetailandare
joiningthem indevelopingsolutionsforthenextseveralyears.”

Inpursuit of its strategic plan to triple its production volume
within the next three years,MCassab announces the restruc-
turingof itsPolyurethanesBusinessUnit,which isnowpartof
the Industrial Chemistry division, following investments in its
systemshouseandthearrivaloftwoprofessionalswithexten-
siveexperience in themarket
The companyhas invested in technical improvements to the
applicationand foamdevelopment laboratoryof its systems
house by implementing state-of-the-art equipment that will
assist itwith thedevelopment of new formulation for custo-
mers,especiallyasregardsfoamsandupholstery,accordingto
